sunday story - moving house

How moving house helped me in the long run...

When I was in Year 7, I was told that we would be moving up north from my hometown Norwich. This terrified me.. I was scared I wasn't going to make friends. I really didn't want my life to change.

So to begin with I found out that my dad wanted to move us up north due to his working condition and at the age of like 12 I wasn't really taking it all in.. I think I just pretended it wasn't going to happen. We went up north a couple of times and looked at a variety of houses and then my parents finally made the decision and bought one.

schools... My mum made me look around some schools. The first school I looked at I knew I wouldn't go there. It was trashy and I can remember this thought really clearly... what if I slip on rubbish down the stairs when there is a fire alarm and hurt myself. I honestly don't know why I thought this maybe because my parents are in health and safety.. who knows. So I told my mum no, I'm not off there its not happening. Then I visited a second and loved it! It was right for me, it was small, tidy and staff were friendly and organised. My mum asked me if i wanted to visit anymore and I was like no i'm going there. But at this point it still hadn't hit me that it was for real.

Primark Perfume - He Loves Me

I bought this beauty way back in october I think now and i'm gonna say it I am a fan! I love perfumes.   Honestly, perfume bottles are so pretty in my eyes. I like to collect. So when I heard about primark stocking them I had to check it out and for £6 it was a true bargain!

Obviously the perfume bottle isn't the most expensive fancy packaging ever but I am really happy with it. I think its so super cute and I'm in love with the daisy packaging detail (this may be because I love daises though).  I'm also a fan of the name of it... again I thinks it's super cute. Thumbs up for primark!

The scent is lovely I personally think! Again i'm really happy with it. It's a light floral scent. I love to wear it during the day and keep it in my handbag as it's not too big but maybe I should really pick up the rollerball instead. I am a definite fan!

The only downfall about this product in my eyes is that it doesn't last very long on the skin (it might just be on me and that I don't notice it as much). However saying that I really don't mind due to the price I paid.  Oh and maybe the fact I can't see how much is left but thats nothing major.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Actually I now really want to go to Primark and buy some more I want to hunt down the black version of this so bad. Let me know your thoughts

see you soon, han x

A few things from Debenhams

I'm late on the bandwagon with these products I know but I just wanted to share with you guys that I finally have them. The other day I went into one of my local Debenhams stores and I was shocked to see Urban Decay. I couldn't control my excitement that there was finally something other than the normal estee lauder, benefit etc around my area, so I gave in and bought a product.

Chocolate Orange and Malteser Christmas Pudding

Hey guys, so today I wanted to share with you one of my Christmas baking ideas. This is so quick &
easy and makes a great gift.

What you will need:

1, Terry's chocolate orange
2, Maltesers
3, Milk Chocolate
4, White Chocolate
5, something which resembles the leaves  and berries for the top. I used two green jelly frogs and Haribo Tangfastics cherry's for the berries.

Method:

1, Melt the Milk chocolate, I did this by putting hot water into a pan, then placing a bowl on top with the chocolate in the bowl.

2, leave the chocolate to harden slightly so its not too runny, then dip half the malteaser in the chocolate and stick it on the chocolate orange keep doing this until it is fully covered. The trick I used was start it on the slant, then when you have done one side, leave them for a bit to stick into place then turn it over and do the other side, this is because it does take a bit of time for the malteaster to become fully stuck onto the chocolate orange.

3, Place  them into the fridge too harden. only for about 5-10 minutes.

4, Melt the white chocolate ( the same method as the milk chocolate) once melted leave it for about 5 minutes.

5,  Spoon a big drop of chocolate and put it on top of the  chocolate orange,( it doesn't matter if it is messy it is meant to look like that ;))

6, find a cute box to put them in, and that's it! such a cute idea, with such little effort ha ha

I hope you enjoyed today's post, please let me know any of your Christmas baking ideas I would love to hear them,

See you soon, Em x

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil: Nude Perfection & Berry Much

Maybelline color drama intense velvet lip pencils/crayons are becoming a new favourite of mine (more so nude perfection). I got both of these recently in my christmas advent calendar my mum made me and I'm super happy I have them. They are a nice creamy/velvety texture crayon that you can apply to your lips just like a lip pencil/lipstick. They have a slight scent which I definitely don't mind I quite like it actually however I don't know how I would describe it... it's not too strong/overbearing. They have great colour pay off! And they are currently £4.99 in both Boots and Superdrug (buy here).

I first got nude perfection in my advent calendar and I have been completely obsessed with it ever since (from the 5th of December). I pretty much wear this nude everyday.. it's perfect! It's more of a browny toned nude which I don't really own anything similar to this so it definitely adds to my collection. I can tell I will be buying this again when it sadly runs out. If you want to see what this shade is like on you can view me wearing it over on our Instagram here

The second I got is berry much which is deep red with a hint of purple I would say. If you can tell from the picture it is slightly damaged as I literally dropped it just before taking the photo... very annoying. Although I love the texture of these lip pencils I don't know if I will be wearing this one often. I'm unsure whether I like the colour on me (swatch here) and I found that it smudged easily and went a bit everywhere during application. However I may learn to love this one as much as I do nude perfection.

Overall I am very happy about these and would definitely recommend them to people and will probably in the future pick up some more. I really want to try minimalist. Let me know what you guys think....

see you soon, han x

pearl drops: ultimate whitening toothpaste @ http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk

The other day I was browsing Superdrug and I saw this toothpaste on offer from £3.99 to £1.98 so I thought I would give it a go (available here). I have decided to make it my mission to get whiter teeth as part of my new years resolution (although it's a few weeks early). So this starts the mission off nicely.

Pearls Drops ultimate whitening tooth polish claims in 3 weeks you can get up to 4 shades whiter teeth. So I am going to put this to the test.. starting from today! And in 3 weeks time I will share with you guys my thoughts on this product.

Let me know in the comments below any products that you recommend I try that will help me get whiter teeth! (or on twitter @emilyhan1394). I would really like to try some out.

Brows Brows Brows! Favourite Eyebrow Products

Eyebrow products are a huge beauty must have right now, And I am a massive fan! Filling in eyebrows are my most favourite make-up feature, it really transforms your face! so I am going to share with you my favourite Eyebrow products.

First up is the Benefit Brow Zing, this was my first brow purchase, I went into Debenhams looking for a foundation funnily enough, however the assistant ended up giving me a makeover and used the brow zing, I have been hooked ever since! it is a really great product,  it is a bit pricey at £24.50 but it is soo worth it if you can afford it!. They come in different shades dependent on your hair type.
Check it out, here

Also if you are looking to get your eyebrows tinted, and shaped I recommend Arc Angelz in Debenhams, I go for the high impact brow and I love it, it lasts for ages and really defines the brow.

If you don't want to spend as much as the benefit one, my second product is the Barry M brow palette.

As you can see this is very similar to Benefit, and it is also provides the same quality. I was having a skint time and needed a replacement brow kit to  the benefit one so I tried this one, and i am still currently using it! it lasts ages and works just as well. I definitely recommend you try this product it also comes with a bonus feature of a highlighter ;)
This one is a lot cheaper, it is just £5.99, check it out here

And finally this is most recent purchase, The Rimmel Brow this way stay styling gel

I saw lots of reviews on the benefit gel brow, but because I have never tried a gel before I wanted to try a cheaper version before I commited to the more expensive brand. I am loving it! I wear this as well as the Barry M brow palette, to define my brows more, however this is perfectly suitable to wear alone. I just wanted a gel to keep my eyebrows in place, then use my palette to fill in more.
this is a lot more cheaper as it is only, £3.99 check it out here

I hope all your brow lovers found this useful! please share any tips or ticks I would love to here them. Also if anyone has tried the Benefit Brow Gel I would love to know what you think!

See you soon, Em x

who doesn't love a £1 lipstick??
A few weeks ago now I bought these 3 lipsticks from MUA including 2 matte shades from Superdrug.  They are £1 each if you hadn't of guessed and I got them on 3 for 2. I had been wanting to get a lilac shade so I couldn't resist picking up two more when I was in store.

Zoella Mist Spray Review

Zoella Mist Spray Review

I just want to start off by saying how much I love this product. It smells amazing and I do recommend trying it.

Pros
  • It smells amazing! it is such a refreshing smell, also it is very strong but I do like strong smelling perfumes as I think they last longer.
  • The bottle is sooo pretty! I love all of her products they are so cute, its the main reason I bought it.
  • It is affordable, I got this one from superdrug for £8.00, you can get it here
  • It is just overall a really nice product, I would say its perfect for a daytime wear.

Cons
  • There isn't many cons for this product, the only thing I would say is I dont think the smells lasts that long, I could be wrong because sometimes you get used to the smell so you dont realise you that do actually still smell nice haha! but that is just my opinion.
I would love to hear what you think of the whole zoella range? I know Han tried the Fizz bar and wasn't too impressed. I would say the opposite I do like her Fizz bar but I do add my own bubble bath to make it bubble. I do also have her make-up bag with her eyes on the front which I am also loving, I think her range is super cute, and and worth the money.

DIY Christmas Crackers

http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/diy-christmas-crackers.html

Last night me and my sister made all my family members their own christmas crackers with their own personalised gift. So today I thought I would share with you this simple do it yourself craft which doesn't take too long at all.

what you will need:
scissors
sellotape/glue
cracker snap
ribbon
decorations (Glitter, etc)
empty toilet roll x 3 per cracker
pencil & ruler

what to do:
1. Once you've decided what paper you want to use cut yourself a square which is 30cm by 20cm.
2.  Once you done this measure 10cm from both sides and draw a line going down so that you can place the cracker snap in the middle. Once you've done this you can then tape your cracker snap in place.
3. Place your 3 toilet rolls onto the wrapping paper. Make sure you place any items (the above contains a lipstick) going into the cracker into the middle toilet roll. Then roll the wrapping paper around them.
4. Once you've rolled the wrapping paper, gently move the outside toilet rolls out, so there is a small gap. Then twist the end and push it in. Then tie a piece of ribbon so that it will hold it's shape and repeat for the other side.
5. Remove the outer toilet rolls completely and then decorate as you wish.
Here's the video if my explanation is too confusing.

Hope you liked this post. Let me know if you tried this...

see you soon, han x

Lush Sweetie Pie Review

Lush Sweetie Pie

First off I would like to apologise for the state of the packaging. It's beginning to wear as it's kept in my shower and water has got to it. Now back to the point.. every time I use this product I always think  i'm going to review this, so today is the day!

What is Sweetie Pie?
Sweetie Pie is one of Lush's shower jellies (body wash in a jelly form). Lush say that 'if a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting jelly, baby'. Which I agree with completely. This particular shower jelly has scents including cherries, bergamot, blackcurrant, coconut along with carrageenan extracts and a bit of sparkle. You can find out more about the ingredients and what they do on the Lush website (link below). Anyway now you know what it is onto my opinions....

Pro's
  • The scent is amazing in my personal opinion. I love that once I get out the shower I smell of blackcurrants although I wouldn't normally go for this scent (it came in a lush gift set I got for my birthday as to the reason I own this hehe).
  • The packaging is good enough for me. It's nice and simple has the ingredients, when to use by, how to use etc which is always handy!
  • It can be used for your hair and scalp as well due to the seaweed gel this is according to the tip but I have never tried it myself. Please let me know if I'm interpreting the tip correctly and it definitely is this you can use for your hair not another product. I can't imagine using it on my hair but I would give it a go!
  • Easy to get your hands on. You can either pick it up this product from Lush stores or online for £6.95

Con's
  • I'm not much of a fan of the price. I think £6.95 if a bit over the top for some body wash but that may be because I like a good offer on products I buy. It's good to get in their gift sets though which I am a massive fan of.
  • Now my main bug with this product is that it's so slippery! (I find). I'll be using it fine and then it just slips out of my hand and once this happens it's bound to do it at least 2 more times after but this is easy to get over.

Overall, I personally wouldn't buy it again as I would rather by their shower gels (especially their snow fairy christmas edition) as they are easier to use. But other than that and the price there's nothing else I can find wrong with it. If you are interested in trying out this product then click here for more info. As always guys let me know your thoughts or what else I should try from lush either in the comments or @emilyhan194

see you soon, han x

Ciate Advent Calander

Ciate Advent Calendar

Christmas is here yey!!!

Christmas is my favourite time of year, I always get extremely excited when the 1st December comes along. Firstly because of advent calenders! they are just so much fun, whether its just chocolate or beauty ones, it is a great way of counting down the days. Secondly it means that Christmas is officially here, the tree goes up, decorations are out and everywhere is just so pretty and cute, I love it!..

Anyway this advent calender was a gift from my boyfriend ( I was so excited when he gave me it!) I am obsessed with nail varnish, no matter where I go I always seem to come back with a new nail varnish so now I get to have one every day of this month( Excited face)!

I have opened three up to now and I love all of the colours, you also get a full sized one on the 24th December.
Ciate are a good nail varnish brand and they do have really pretty colours, I am currently wearing the snow globe colour (number one of the advent calender) I like how sparkly it is. It would compliment any top coat colour if you would prefer to do that way.
This would make a great gift for next year for all the extra early organised Christmas shoppers ha-ha

I do really like this advent calender and I am enjoying counting down the days with it. It is my favourite one to date and I would definitely recommend!

Let me know if anyone has any beauty advent calenders,I would love to hear what you think

see you soon, Em x

november favourites - han edition

Welcome to my november favourites. I thought I would share we you 8 products that I have been loving throughout november.

This is a shower jelly from Lush. Now this is a controversial product for me to include as I do love it but I do have a slight issue with it. I love the scent and that is the main reason it's included in my favourites plus I have been using it every shower of november. I think theres going to be a review of this soon, so once it's up I will link it up.

2.  Primark Scarf
Oh my god I love this so much... It's so warm. It's like a blanket and it was only £6. I have seen a range of these in various Primarks and I am definitely tempted to buy another. Oh and did I mention it's reversible with a black and white print the other side making it easier for me to coordinate with my outfits.

3. Primark Perfume - He loves Me
Ok I picked this up because I love to have a selection of perfumes on my side as I think perfume bottles are so pretty. So when I saw this for £6 I was like I need to have. I love the scent and the packaging and again I sense another review going up soon maybe.

4. MAC Lipstick - Cyber
I've been loving lipstick in general in november as I gained like I would say at least 5 new ones maybe more. But my particular fav for this month has been Cyber (purple shade). I like to wear it very muted down but still enough to give me that purple lip. It's been great for the autumn/wintery vibe.

5. Savlon
Now this may be a weird fav of mine but honestly it's been helping my skin so much a long with drinking more water. I like to put this on my spots before I go to bed and when I wake up I tend to notice a difference whether it be in size of spot or redness.

6. Seventeen CC Cream
I have been adoring wearing this. I tend to use this CC cream rather than foundation along with a powder on top if I'm going out all day. I definitely think this will remain in my favourites for quite awhile until I find something to replace it. The main reason i'm a massive fan it that it does have a great coverage which I personally want in products.

7. Rimmel London Lip Liner - Snob
Now I was never really into lip pencils until recent months when they have become more talked about.  I love this shade and I wear it when I'm after a natural lip. I will sometimes wear this with a lipstick and just outline my lips. Other times I wear this all over (those days I tend to use a lip balm as well as). I'm now a converted fan of the lip pencils.

8. Barry M - Matte Coat
For me november was all about having a matte nails (whereas december is all about the glitter).  When I did bother painting my nails throughout november they would ever only be matte white or matte black so it was quite fitting that this was included in my favourites.

That's 8 products that I was loving throughout november let me know about yours in the comments or on twitter. I might even get round to buying them myself.

see you soon, han x
